Dwarshuis and Will Sutherland then disrupted the Indian middle-order, reducing the team to 159 for six.
Australia A began their innings with a 82-run partnership between Josh Philippe and Liam Scott, but both were dismissed at the same score.
Lachlan Shaw and Nathan McSweeney then added 58 runs, keeping Australia A in the hunt before McSweeney fell to Gurjapneet.
After McSweeney's dismissal, Australia A lost their next seven wickets for 86 runs, finishing at 226 all out.
