India A's openers, Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya, scored 83 runs in 10.4 overs before Singh was dismissed by Ben Dwarshuis.
Dwarshuis and Will Sutherland took regular wickets in the Indian middle-order, but Shedge and Nigam added 85 runs to take India past 250.
Australia A started strongly with Josh Philippe and Liam Scott scoring 82 runs in 15 overs, but they fell at the same score.
A second wicket partnership of 58 between Lachlan Shaw and Nathan McSweeney kept Australia in the hunt, but McSweeney's dismissal to Gurjapneet ended their chase.
Australia A lost the next seven wickets for 86 runs, finishing at 226.
