Witnesses described seeing the man wearing headphones and pacing near the tiger enclosure before he climbed into it. Police confirmed the man died at the scene.

A park spokesperson expressed condolences to the man's family and stated the tiger, named Altai, remained in the enclosure and would not be euthanized. The spokesperson also noted the tiger was safe and well.

Staff at the park were described as deeply affected by the incident and would receive specialist support. South Yorkshire Police said the man's family were being supported by officers.
