India posted a total of 223/10 in 20 overs, with Abhishek Sharma scoring 69 off 30 balls.
Sharma formed a 108-run partnership with Ishan Kishan, but India lost wickets regularly throughout the innings.
West Indies scored 209/7 in their reply, falling short by 14 runs.
