TerraTern Places 200+ Nurses and Physiotherapists in Germany and Austria

TerraTern, an AI-native talent mobility platform based in India, has placed 200+ nurses and physiotherapists in hospitals and healthcare institutions across Germany and Austria.

The placements span university hospitals, geriatric care networks, and elderly care homes, supported by TerraTern's healthcare vertical, which offers German-language training, mock tests, AI-enabled mock interviews, cultural preparation, and employer interviews.

The global nursing shortage is expected to reach 4.1 million by 2030, with Germany needing nearly 500,000 foreign-trained nurses by 2030 and Austria facing similar demand for physiotherapists.

India produces a large number of trained nurses, but many remain underutilized domestically due to language barriers, credential recognition issues, and complex visa processes.

TerraTern's Germany Nursing Program combines AI-based eligibility tools with German tutors, interview simulations, and full visa and credential-recognition support, offering a streamlined pathway for candidates.

Of the nurses placed, 34% hold GNM diplomas and 66% hold BSc Nursing degrees, sourced from various regions across India. In Germany, most candidates secure positions in university hospitals or specialized care networks after passing the B2 language exam and completing a fast-tracked credential recognition process.

In Austria, candidates who complete B1/B2 German training and have their qualifications recognized can access public and private hospital groups. The placements offer significantly higher pay, with salaries approximately 10 times higher than entry-level jobs in India, and a clear path to permanent residency within a few years.

TerraTern manages each placement as a continuous pipeline, starting with structured German language training, followed by AI-powered mock interviews and cultural preparation, and ending with direct interviews with partner hospitals and full visa management.

Support continues after arrival, including local registration, accommodation, banking, and assistance with settling in. A nurse from Kerala, Helen, transitioned from earning around ₹16,000 a month in India to working in a German hospital with a salary ten times higher.

TerraTern aims to place 500+ healthcare workers next year and expand partnerships with hospitals and care networks in Germany, Austria, Japan, Australia, and the Netherlands to create a scalable pathway for India's nursing workforce.
