New Zealand Cricket launches limited-edition jersey with Māori and Indian designs for upcoming India tour.
The Brief

- Design collaboration includes artists from Māori and Gujarat backgrounds.
- Jersey available through NZC online store and select Rebel Sport outlets.
New Zealand Cricket announced a limited-edition ODI jersey on October 10, featuring Māori and Indian designs to commemorate 100 years of sporting ties with India.
The jersey, named 'Kotahitanga ODI shirt,' will be worn by the BlackCaps during their five-match ODI series against India in November 2026.
The design incorporates elements from both cultures, including lotus flowers, mandala art, and traditional Māori patterns, symbolizing the shared history and connection between the two nations.
Artists Ben Thomason, Shiv Narandas, and Jai Pancha collaborated on the jersey. Thomason, of Ngati Raukawa ki Te Tonga, included Māori kowhaiwhai patterns and haehae lines.
Narandas and Pancha, both from Gujarat, added three Indian motifs: the lotus, an ogee pattern inspired by Indian architecture, and the mandala, which complements Māori design traditions.
The jersey is available for purchase through New Zealand Cricket’s online store and selected Rebel Sport outlets.
