New Zealand Cricket has released a special jersey for the upcoming ODI series against India, marking 100 years of cricketing ties between the two nations. The jersey is designed to highlight the shared respect and history between New Zealand and India.

The shirt incorporates the lotus, a traditional Indian symbol, alongside Maori cultural elements. The design includes a message reading '100 years of unity through sport, New Zealand, India,' which also features the White Ferns on NZ's jersey and the Indian cultural symbol of the lotus.

The jersey was created through a collaboration between artists Ben Thomason (Ngati Raukawa ki Te Tonga) and Gujarat's Shiv Narandas and Jai Pancha. The design aims to represent the values of unity, respect, and the spirit of sport by intertwining Maori and Indian cultures.

New Zealand's ODI squad for the five-match series includes Finn Allen, Lockie Ferguson, Rachin Ravindra, and Tim Seifert. Mitchell Santner will captain the team, with the series set to begin on November 4 at Eden Park in Auckland.

The ODI series will follow the five-match T20I series, which starts on October 22. The BLACKCAPS aim to build on their 2-1 ODI series win over India in January, marking their first victory on Indian soil.

Seven additional players will join the squad for the fourth and fifth ODIs as some members travel to Wellington to prepare for the Test series. New Zealand will announce its 14-member Test squad for the series against India in early November.
