Holidaymakers can now fly from London Gatwick to The Gambia with Jet2 this winter. British tour operator The Gambia Experience has announced a new partnership with Jet2 for charter flights from Gatwick airport over the winter until April 2027.
The flights will run twice weekly between Gatwick and Banjul, with departures on Tuesdays and Saturdays. An additional Monday flight will also operate on selected peak dates during Christmas and New Year.
Passengers have the option to upgrade to Economy Plus, which includes more space on board and access to airport lounges at both Gatwick and Banjul airports, the only international airport in The Gambia.
This flight is not part of Jet2’s regular schedule but is a chartered service specifically for The Gambia Experience. The journey takes approximately six hours with no time difference between The Gambia and the UK during the winter season.
The Gambia Experience offers package holidays that include stays at all-inclusive resorts, beach breaks, and wildlife excursions. One option is a seven-night stay at Kombo Beach Hotel, starting from £799 per person, with flights, luggage, seating, in-flight catering, and hotel transfers included.
Karen Durham, product manager at The Gambia Experience, stated the company is excited to showcase The Gambia’s attractions alongside the new flight services. Trevor Caplis, Head of Charter & Airline Sales at Jet2, noted the positive feedback from customers and the success of the service.
