Indian Naval Ship (INS) Tarkash concluded its visit to Port Louis, Mauritius, on Thursday following a series of engagements aimed at improving bilateral maritime cooperation.

During its stay, the ship's crew participated in cross-training exercises, leadership interactions, and community outreach activities, including a cultural exchange event for Aapravasi Diwas 2026.

Upon departure, INS Tarkash conducted joint surveillance operations in the Exclusive Economic Zone with a Mauritius Coast Guard Dornier aircraft, followed by a Passage Exercise with the CGS Valiant.

The visit followed a high-level naval delegation visit to Mauritius in August, during which Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Krishna Swaminathan met with senior Mauritian officials.

Discussions during the August visit focused on expanding maritime security cooperation, training exchanges, and information-sharing between the two nations.

Admiral Swaminathan emphasized India's support for Mauritius's capacity-building efforts, with both countries reaffirming their shared commitment to regional security and stability.
