Giants Show Interest in Taylor; Broncos, Vikings Less So
Colts seeking top compensation for Jonathan Taylor as trade talks continue.
The Brief
- Giants are considered a serious suitor for Jonathan Taylor.
- Broncos and Vikings show less interest in acquiring Taylor.
- Colts demand high compensation for Taylor, with no deal yet.
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reports that the New York Giants are seriously considering acquiring Jonathan Taylor, while the Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings appear less inclined to make a move.
All three teams have inquired about Taylor’s trade cost, with the Colts reportedly seeking a first-round pick or a package similar to what the Carolina Panthers received for Christian McCaffrey in 2023.
The 49ers traded a combination of second-, third-, and fourth-round picks along with a 2024 fifth-rounder for Taylor, but none of the three suitors have met the Colts’ asking price yet.
Despite this, the Giants have reportedly offered enough for Breer to label them a serious suitor. However, no deal has been finalized, and the situation remains fluid as the trade deadline approaches.
Taylor confirmed that no trade request has been made, though the Colts are motivated to recoup draft capital as they rebuild after the failed Daniel Jones era.
The Colts are determined to maximize their draft value and are expected to push for a deal before the November 10 trade deadline, with Taylor likely to be moved early next week.
