Falcons Lead Packers 17-7 at Half

Michael Penix returned to action after a two-month absence, making his first start since November 16. He began slowly, completing just five of his first 11 passes, including an interception. Penix eventually found his rhythm, finishing the first half 13-of-20 for 114 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

Penix's 5-yard touchdown pass to tight end Austin Hooper on third-and-goal with 59 seconds remaining in the half secured the Falcons' 17-7 lead at halftime. The Falcons, who had struggled to convert red zone opportunities in their first two games, were 2-for-2 in the red zone during the first half.

Falcons running back Bijan Robinson contributed 111 yards on 15 carries, including a 3-yard touchdown run. He also added a 17-yard catch. Drake London recorded five catches for 54 yards. The Falcons outgained the Packers 253 to 108 in the first half.

Green Bay's offense faced challenges, going three-and-out on four of their six possessions. The Packers were 1-for-6 on third down and recorded four punts. Green Bay kicker Trey Smack had his 47-yard field goal attempt blocked by Falcons defensive lineman Zach Harrison.

Jordan Love completed 9-of-19 passes for 96 yards, including a 4-yard touchdown to Christian Watson, who now has four touchdowns on the season. Matthew Golden caught two passes for 53 yards. The Packers' run game was ineffective, with MarShawn Lloyd and Kaleb Johnson combining for five carries for 12 yards.

The Packers have won 13 consecutive home openers at Lambeau Field, but their performance in the first half suggested they may face challenges in maintaining that streak.
