- The 49ers voided remaining contract guarantees due to rehab disagreement.
Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has filed for reinstatement from the San Francisco 49ers' reserve/left squad list, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.
Rosenhaus told ESPN's Adam Schefter that Aiyuk intends to report to the 49ers' facility this week, indicating his readiness to return to the team.
Aiyuk was placed on the reserve list following a dispute with the 49ers regarding his rehabilitation of a 2024 knee injury. The team voided the remaining guarantees in his contract as a result of the disagreement over his rehab process.
The 49ers have stated that Aiyuk will not play for the team again, leaving the club with the options of trading or releasing him once his reinstatement is processed and he reports to the team.
The 49ers have indicated that previous trade attempts have failed, making a release the most likely outcome for Aiyuk.
