Two bystanders, including a 1-year-old girl, were injured during a daylight shooting in the Bronx on Monday afternoon, according to police.

The gunfire occurred in front of 726 Courtlandt Ave. in Melrose around 4 p.m., striking a 32-year-old man in the ankle, as reported by the NYPD.

A bullet fragment also struck a parked 2023 Honda Civic, which was carrying a teenage girl and a baby, and shattered its window, authorities said.

While the 16-year-old girl was unharmed, the glass fragments caused minor injuries to the 1-year-old girl, according to officials.

Emergency medical services transported both victims to Lincoln Hospital, where they are in stable condition.

Neither of the injured individuals is believed to have been the gunman’s intended target, sources said.
