The Brief
- Shoppers fled for cover as gunfire erupted inside the store.
- One woman was killed, and three others remained in critical condition.
- Authorities are investigating a targeted incident with no arrests made.
A video obtained by KCRA 3 shows shoppers ducking for cover as gunfire erupted inside a Spirit Halloween store at Solano Town Center in Fairfield on Friday night.
Emergency dispatch audio indicated authorities were working to evacuate the mall, with a dispatcher reporting approximately 30 people exiting.
Madeline Francia, who was inside the store shortly before the shooting, said they left just minutes before the gunfire and later witnessed the police response.
Fairfield police identified the woman killed as 31-year-old Constance Hages, whose family reported she was pregnant, though authorities said confirmation would come from the Solano County coroner.
Three other victims, males aged 16, 19, and 32, remained in critical condition Saturday, while a 23-year-old man was hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
The FBI's Sacramento office is assisting Fairfield police in the investigation, which is believed to stem from a targeted incident involving one suspect, though no arrests have been announced.
