The Brief

  • Gillis hosted SNL with sketches featuring his signature humor.
  • No viral moments or notable jokes emerged from the episode.
  • New cast member Grace Reiter stood out in several sketches.

In his third hosting appearance on Saturday Night Live, Shane Gillis delivered a series of sketches that leaned into his familiar comedic style, but failed to produce any standout or memorable moments.

The episode included a monologue where Gillis joked about his Bud Light commercials, fitness routines with Joe Rogan and Theo Von, and his balding hair, comparing it to an Adolf Hitler haircut.

Gillis also appeared in a country song music video as a father of a bride who ends up hooking up with Ms. Pac-Man, and in a Green Eggs and Ham sketch where he accidentally dropped an F-bomb.

A History Channel sketch about WWII inventors and a heating/AC commercial were among the other sketches, with the latter being honest about the chaotic process of home services.

New cast member Grace Reiter was featured in several sketches, including a 'Weekotify Update' segment where she played a bratty child embarrassing her mother, and a sketch where she portrayed Gillis' elderly mother as a hospice nurse.

Reiter also appeared in a final sketch set at a kid's chess tournament, where she and Gillis played exes who transitioned into inappropriate flirtation in the stands.
