The Brief

  • Rosalía performed 'Reliquia' while standing en pointe.
  • She later sang 'Magnolias' during a rain shower.
  • Her dress became clingy and transparent during the rain performance.

During her first performance on 'Saturday Night Live,' Rosalía stood perfectly still for the four-minute rendition of 'Reliquia,' appearing to maintain a balletic stance throughout.

For her second number, Rosalía performed 'Magn, ias' amid an in-studio rain shower, which dampened her hair and face and caused her white dress to become clingy and sheer.

Viewers on social media speculated about how Rosalía managed to maintain her posture during the first performance, with some questioning if she was being supported unseen. However, fans familiar with her live performances confirmed her ability to execute such feats without assistance.

At the end of 'Reliquia,' Rosalía was joined by a dozen dancers who lined up on either side of her as a strobe light effect illuminated the stage.

In the rain performance, Rosalía’s undergarments became visible as her dress grew more soaked. This was not new to viewers, as she had previously worn the same undergarments in a comedy sketch earlier in the episode.

The sketch featured Rosalía appearing in a thought bubble, encouraging host Shane Gillis to leave his gravely ill mother’s bedside for a Jelly Roll concert at Las Vegas’ Sphere.
