Rijiju Proposes Swimming Contest After Tiwari's Yamuna Dip
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari's river dip sparks playful challenge from Union minister Kiren Rijiju.
The Brief
- Tiwari swam in Yamuna and praised its cleanliness under Modi and Gupta's leadership.
- Rijiju suggested a swimming competition between him and Tiwari.
- AAP disputed Tiwari's claims, calling them false and staged.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari recently took a dip in the Yamuna and praised the river's cleanliness, citing efforts under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's leadership.
Union minister Kiren Rijiju, a fellow BJP member, shared Tiwari's video on X and proposed a swimming competition between the two, suggesting the river's improved state could support such an event.
Tiwari's dip occurred ahead of Chhath Puja, and he expressed joy at being able to enter the Yamuna, crediting Modi and Gupta for the river's cleanliness.
He also mentioned the presence of crocodiles in the water, stating they thrive in clean environments, and emphasized his visit was meant to send a message, not to shame Arvind Kejriwal.
The Aam Aadmi Party disputed Tiwari's claims, with workers stating the water at the site was black and heavily polluted, calling his assertions false and staged.
AAP accused Ti, who represents Purvanchal, of theatrics and issued a challenge, urging him to take a dip where drain water flows into the Yamuna, drink the water, and livestream the act.
