Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, announced plans for a march to the Supreme Court. He called on opposition leaders and citizens to join the campaign against alleged 'vote theft'.
Gandhi stated that the march would not be associated with any political party, individual, or community. Instead, he emphasized that participants would march as Indians who believe in democracy.
He appealed to people of all political affiliations to join the march, saying, 'Walk with us. There is nothing to be afraid of.'
Gandhi urged opposition parties to submit a memorandum to the Chief Justice of India, which would include demands to stop vote theft, halt the SIR process, and remove Chief Election, Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The proposed march follows ongoing protests over the Election Commission and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Opposition groups have accused the process of irregularities and called for the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar.
Gandhi also criticized the BJP leadership, stating, 'Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Ajit Doval and Mohan Bhagwat cannot silence India’s voice.'
