A Photo Walk event was held at the cultural heritage site of PT Semen Padang on July 24, 2026. The site, established in 1910 during the Dutch East Indies era, is recognized as Indonesia's oldest cement plant and one of the oldest in Southeast Asia.

Participants were invited to explore historical sites within the Semen Padang area, taking photographs while learning about the history of the cement industry in Indonesia. The activity emphasized the importance of documenting history through visual media.

The Photo Walk was part of the Wikijalajah 2.0 project, supported by the Wikimedia Foundation. The project encourages participants to explore historical sites and document them through photography, contributing to Wikimedia Commons.

The resulting photographs were uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, providing visual resources for the public, researchers, and Wikipedia users. Participants were encouraged to add relevant information and appropriate licensing to their uploads.

The Padang City Education and Culture Office provided historical insights during the event, helping participants understand the significance of the sites they documented. This added depth to the photographic documentation, allowing for a more meaningful contribution to historical preservation.

Fifteen Wikipedia contributors participated in the event, capturing 210 photographs that enriched the visual documentation of historical and industrial heritage in West Sumatra.
