Kelly Clarkson criticized a Brooklyn store after claiming an employee mistreated her during a visit. The singer and talk show host shared her experience on X, describing how she felt disrespected.

Clarkson stated that she was treated as if she could not afford items at Art of Play, a store known for toys, games, books, and puzzles. She said an employee told her he could find something comparable for her.

She compared the encounter to a scene from the 1990 film 'Pretty Woman,' in which a saleswoman dismisses Vivian Ward, played by Julia Roberts, for appearing unable to afford clothing.

Clarkson’s post drew attention from followers, some of whom defended her and criticized the store. Several users left negative reviews on the business’ Google listing.

One Yelp reviewer wrote, 'Rude!!!! If I could give zero I would! Treat people like you want to be treated walking into a store.'

Art of Play has not issued a formal statement addressing Clarkson’s claims. However, the store shared an Instagram Story featuring a customer review praising the staff’s 'genuine kindness.'
