The Brief
- Klum wore a giant, gruesome severed hand costume for her 25th Halloween party.
- The costume included blood, ligaments, and her engagement ring and wedding band.
- Her husband did not attend but his name appears on her ring finger.
Heidi Klum attended her annual Halloween party in New York, wearing a giant, gruesome severed hand costume. The event marks 25 years since she first hosted the party.
The costume featured blood dripping from her mouth, a gory assortment of dangling ligaments and tendons, and only her eyes and mouth visible. She had an ensemble of helpers in blood-stained hazmat suits.
Klum revealed the idea for the costume last year, choosing to be a giant version of her own left hand with long red nails, a thumb ring, and her engagement ring and wedding band.
She described the process of getting into the costume as taking about five to six hours, with preparation taking much longer. She posted hints on her Instagram earlier in the day as bloodied prosthetics were applied to her face.
Klum noted that the hardest part of the costume was carrying it, as it was quite heavy. Her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, did not attend this year due to being on tour.
The costume included a tattoo of Tom's name on her ring finger, along with her palm lines and veins. She said, 'A little bit of Tom is with me.'
