The Brief

  • Tennessee's Tony Pollard is on expiring contract with 2024 free agency deal.
  • Pollard has 129 yards and 3 touchdowns in Week 7, 117 yards and 2 touchdowns in Week 8.
  • Giants may avoid high cost for Jonathan Taylor by pursuing Pollard instead.

The New York Giants are being considered as a potential trade partner for Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard, according to The Athletic's Daniel Popper.

Pollard, who joined the Titans in 2024 via free agency, has shown strong performance recently, including 129 rushing yards and three touchdowns against the Browns in Week 7.

In Week 8, Pollard added 117 yards and two touchdowns against the Bengals, placing him second among all running backs in scrimmage yards during that two-game span.

Popper noted that Pollard is on an expiring contract and has emerged as a viable option for a team in need of a running back without offering significant draft capital.

Meanwhile, the Giants are reportedly considering a trade for Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor, who recently signed a two-year, $44 million contract extension.

However, the price for Taylor may be too high, with reports suggesting the Colts could demand a return similar to the one the 49ers received for Christian McCaffrey in 2022.
