The Brief

  • Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6 is now available for multiple Pixel devices.
  • The update fixes issues including visual regressions, device reboots, and system crashes.
  • Pixel 11 series devices are not supported in this beta release.

Google has released Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6 for a range of Pixel devices, following the launch of Beta 5 just a week earlier.

The update addresses several reported issues, including a visual regression that caused letterboxed content to leak through the status bar during activity transitions.

Other fixes include resolving a screensaver issue that displayed a blank screen while charging and preventing unexpected device reboots on Pixel 9 Pro Fold when initializing the camera viewfinder in third-party apps.

The update also resolves problems with locked applications not being dismissable via swipe gestures in Recents and a system kernel crash that led to unexpected reboots during biometric identity verification.

Additionally, the update tackles an issue causing device crashes, reboots, or hangs when scrolling. Users are encouraged to report any issues through the Android Beta Feedback app or the Android Beta community on Reddit.

The beta update is available for the Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel 9a, Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and Pixel 10a, as well as the Android Emulator. Pixel 11 series devices are not supported.
