- Diesel price now exceeds Rs400 per litre following recent adjustments.
The federal government raised the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs2.29 per litre, effective from Oct 31 to Nov 2, while keeping petrol prices unchanged during the same period.
According to the Petroleum Division, HSD will cost Rs402.96 per litre, while petrol will continue at Rs377.91 per litre.
This adjustment follows a previous increase of 85 paisa per litre on Oct 29, which pushed diesel prices above the Rs400 mark.
The government implemented a new daily pricing mechanism for petroleum products on July 17, replacing the weekly system, amid global oil market volatility due to tensions between the United States and Iran.
In September, Prime Minister Shehbaz introduced a relief scheme offering Rs100 per litre discount on petrol for certain vehicles, aiming to support lower-income consumers.
Additional austerity measures were introduced on Sept 17, including earlier closing times for retail and hospitality businesses, to manage rising fuel costs.
