Colts Trade Quenton Nelson to Seahawks
Colts send star guard to Seahawks in trade deal.
The Brief
- Colts trade Quenton Nelson to Seahawks.
- Seahawks send 2027 third-round and 2028 fifth-round picks.
- Nelson in final year of contract; Colts in rebuilding phase.
The Indianapolis Colts have agreed to trade guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks. The deal was confirmed by multiple reports.
As part of the trade, the Seahawks will send a 2027 third-round draft pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick to the Colts.
Nelson, a sixth-overall pick in 2018, was a first-team All-Pro in his first three seasons and has been a three-time second-team All-Pro and eight-time Pro Bowler.
The Colts are in rebuilding mode following the firing of General Manager Chris Ballard last week. Nelson is entering the final year of his contract.
The Seahawks, seeking to strengthen their offensive line, will adjust their current roster. They started Gray Zabel and Anthony Bradford at guard in their Week 7 game against the Chiefs.
Left tackle Charles Cross left that game with an ankle injury, and it remains unclear how long he will be sidelined. Nelson’s arrival is expected to reshape Seattle’s offensive line strategy.
