Canelo Alvarez Returns to Title Picture in Saudi Arabia

For the first time since 2020, world championship boxing returns to Halloween night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event features a main event between Canelo Alvarez and Christian Mbilli, with Alvarez seeking to reclaim a former belt.

Alvarez and Mbilli are making their first appearances since Sept. 2025, when they both competed on the same card in Las Vegas. Mbilli previously fought Lester Martinez to a split draw, while Alvarez lost his 168-pound titles to Terence Crawford in the main event.

The co-main event was originally supposed to be a vacant IBF super lightweight title fight between Lindolfo Delgado and Arthur Biyarslanov. However, Delgado did not travel to Saudi Arabia, leading to the matchup being canceled during fight week. Jaime Munguia now faces Nikita Zon in the co-main event.

Rafael Espinoza, the WBO featherweight champion, will challenge Ricardo Blandon on the undercard. Espinoza is the biggest favorite against Bland, who has won his last four fights and is competing outside Nicaragua for only the fourth time.

The event will also feature several other bouts, including David Picasso vs. Carl Martin, Reito Tsutsumi vs. Raymundo Rojas, Bek Nurmaganbet vs. Marcos Vazquez, Carlos Emiliano Rojo Vazquez vs. Flavius Biea, Brayan Leon vs. Hector Aguirre, and Sultan Almohammed vs. Erick Jahir Urvina Villegas.

The main event ringwalks are scheduled for approximately 4:30 p.m. EST, with the fight beginning at 1 p.m. EST. The event will be broadcast on DAZN Ultimate or DAZN pay-per-view at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.
