Canada and Greece have confirmed their teams for the United Cup, which will take place in Sydney and Perth from January 1 to 10. The event features top-ranked men’s and women’s players competing in singles before a mixed doubles match in a round-robin format.
Felix Auger-Aliassime, ranked world No. 7, will team up with Victoria Mboko for the second consecutive year. Auger-Aliassime, who reached the French Open and Wimbledon quarters this year, is expected to lead Canada’s efforts.
Mboko, a 20-year-old rising star, has climbed over 300 spots in the rankings in the past year. She expressed pride in representing Canada and highlighted the unique nature of the United Cup.
Greece will be represented by Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari, who were part of the team that narrowly lost to the USA earlier this year. Tsitsipas and Sakkari both reached finals on the same day earlier this year, showcasing their strong support for one another.
Tsitsipas praised the team environment at the United Cup, noting the camaraderie and energy that comes from supporting teammates. He also referenced their shared milestones and excitement for the upcoming event.
The full list of participating countries and players will be announced when the draw is finalized later this month. Tournament director Stephen Farrow expressed enthusiasm for the event, highlighting the electric atmosphere expected at matches in Sydney and Perth.
