The Brief

  • Kirkpatrick arrested on harassment and doxing charges after threatening a UAPD officer on Facebook.
  • Officer cited past 2025 traffic stop where Kirkpatrick allegedly fled police.
  • Kirkpatrick suspended for team rule violation and missed game against Texas A&M.

Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., a 20-year-old defensive back for the University of Alabama, was arrested last week on two misdemeanor charges of harassing communications and doxing. The charges stem from an alleged threat made to a University of Alabama police officer on Facebook.

According to court records, Officer Christopher Fuerch reported receiving a message from Kirkpatrick on Facebook Messenger on October 20. The message included a racial slur and a demand for a response, prompting Fuerch to take immediate action.

Fuerch stated that the message alarmed him due to a prior incident in November 2025, when he attempted to pull Kirkpatrick over for speeding. Kirkpatrick reportedly fled the scene during that traffic stop, which led to his arrest on charges of reckless endangerment.

Kirkpatrick was released from Tuscaloosa County Jail on $600 bond after his arrest. He was also cited for not wearing a seat belt, tinted windows, and speeding during the incident. Surveillance video and body camera footage from the event were reportedly collected by the officers.

Kirkpatrick was suspended for the final seven games of the 2025 season after an arrest in late October. He has been a key player for the team this season, contributing with four tackles and playing multiple defensive roles.

Kirkpatrick’s attorney has not yet commented on the latest charges, and the outcome of his November 2025 traffic stop charges remains undisclosed. He also faces a court date in November 2026 for a separate charge of leaving the scene of an accident.
