The Brief

Afghanistan and Zimbabwe will open their two-match Test series on Thursday, November 5, at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates. The match is scheduled to start at 11:00 AM IST and will conclude on Monday, November 9.

Afghanistan, having secured a 3-0 victory in the preceding T20I series, will be led by Rahmat Shah in the longest format. Zimbabwe, captained by Brian Bennett due to the absence of regular skipper Richard Ngarava, aims to make a strong start after their T20I defeat.

The two teams have a history of five Test matches, with both sides claiming two wins and one match ending in a draw. The first Test will be available for live streaming on the FanCode app and website for Indian viewers, though it will not be broadcast on live television in the country.

Zimbabwe's squad includes experienced players such as Craig Ervine, Brendan Taylor, and veteran leg-spinner Graeme Cremer. Afghanistan's squad features Rahmat Shah as captain, with Ikram Alikhil as vice-captain and wicketkeeper.

The second Test in the series is set for November 13-17 at the same venue. Both teams will be looking to build on their recent performances and secure a strong position in the ongoing Test series.
