On October 10, 2026, security forces in Pakistan killed 12 Khwarij and Afghan Taliban personnel while thwarting an infiltration attempt along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Kurram district, according to a security statement.

The statement said troops detected a group of Khwarij attempting to enter Pakistan from Afghanistan across the international border. Security personnel blocked the infiltration, while Afghan Taliban posts opened fire in support of the group.

Troops responded with precise fire, killing 12 Khwarij and Afghan Taliban personnel. During the intense exchange, Naib Subedar Hidayat Aman, 40, from Ghizer district, fought bravely and embraced martyrdom.

The statement said the incident reinforced Pakistan’s position that the Afghan Taliban regime had failed to stop terrorist groups from operating on Afghan soil and had instead facilitated and patronised cross-border terrorism.

Security forces remain determined to protect the country’s borders, with a sanitisation operation under way to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored Khwarij present in the area. The counterterrorism campaign under the vision of 'Azm-e-Istehkam' will continue at full pace.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif praised security forces for foiling the infiltration attempt and killing 12 militants. He expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of Naib Subedar Hidayat Aman and paid tribute to the soldier for his courage and dedication.
