Sancho rejects Getafe for Saudi transfer
Jadon Sancho turns down La Liga move as Saudi deal nears
The Brief
- Sancho declines Getafe offer after Saudi club provides better financial terms
- Getafe could not meet Sancho's €3 million net demand for the season
- Sancho remains without a club since Manchester United contract expired
Jadon Sancho has rejected an offer from Getafe to join La Liga, according to Marca, as he continues negotiations with a Saudi Arabian club.
The Spanish club had explored signing Sancho as a free agent but could not meet his financial demands, which reportedly included around €3 million net until the end of the season.
Sancho, 26, has been without a club since his Manchester United contract expired in June, following loan spells with Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea, and Aston Villa.
Despite interest from multiple leagues, including Premier League clubs, MLS, Qatar, and the UAE, none of those options progressed beyond initial discussions.
Sancho had considered staying in Europe, with Getafe seen as a potential destination offering a similar platform to the one Mason Greenwood used during his time there.
The Saudi offer is understood to meet Sancho's financial expectations, though the identity of the interested club has not been disclosed.
