Zelenskyy also stated that people requiring evacuation had been transported out of the city and surrounding areas, with Ukrainian citizens crossing into Ukraine via the Chernihiv region.
Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said Russian President Vladimir Putin had never refused to speak with Zelenskyy, adding that Zelenskyy could travel to Moscow if he wished to negotiate.
