Nancy Guthrie task force meets with Florida DNA experts
Authorities seek new leads in case approaching ninth month
The Brief
- Task force travels to Florida for DNA analysis updates
- Case remains unsolved after eight months
- Public urged to share any information
Authorities investigating Nancy Guthrie's disappearance said Friday that a task force has traveled to Florida to meet with DNA scientists to advance the case.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department stated that the task force met with lab scientists to explore ways to advance the case.
Guthrie, 8, is the mother of TODAY co-host Savannah Guthrie, who vanished from her home in Tucson, Arizona, in February.
Federal authorities have described the case as a kidnapping-for-ransom situation, though updates have been limited in recent months.
In late July, law enforcement confirmed that hair found during the investigation was not linked to any suspects.
The sheriff’s office emphasized that no tip is too small and encouraged the public to contact 88-CRIME or 1-800-CALL-FBI with any information.
