A new survey by Campbell's has identified stuffing as the most popular Thanksgiving side dish in Minnesota, with 38 other states also selecting it as their favorite.
The survey, titled 'State of the Sides,' highlights that while turkey remains the centerpiece of Thanksgiving, the sides are where most Americans show their preference.
According to the report, 86% of respondents said they will serve at least four sides this Thanksgiving, with 46% indicating they would be satisfied with a meal consisting solely of sides.
Campbell's noted that the average number of sides per Thanksgiving meal is five, leading to an estimated 749 million side dishes consumed nationwide in 2026.
In Minnesota, stuffing ranked first, followed by mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and green bean casserole as the top five sides.
The survey also clarified the difference between stuffing and dressing, noting that stuffing is cooked inside the turkey while dressing is typically baked or roasted separately.
