Mancini Names Frattesi in Italy Squad
Italy coach selects Lazio midfielder for camp ahead of Nations League fixtures.
The Brief
- Italy coach Roberto Mancini called up 31 players, including Lazio's Davide Frattesi.
- Frattesi will not be joined by any Lazio teammates in the squad.
- Two young players from Como and Parma are included in the squad.
Italy head coach Roberto Mancini has named 31 players for the November international break, with Lazio midfielder Davide Frattesi among those selected.
Frattesi, 27, was previously called up for the September-October international break and was considered one of Italy’s top performers during that period.
Despite a slight dip in form after a strong start with Lazio, his inclusion in the squad was expected.
Frattesi will not be joined by any of his Lazio teammates, as club captain Mattia Zaccagni is sidelined with a muscle injury.
Other notable players in the squad include 17-year-old Como midfielder Riccardo Cassano and 18-year-old Parma forward Simone Lontani.
Cassano and Lontani are expected to join the senior squad for only a few days before returning to their respective youth teams.
