The Brief
- George Gordon is accused of murdering Delia McInerney in April 2023 and keeping her dismembered body in a freezer.
- Her remains were discovered in a chest freezer on January 8, 2025, along with five dead guinea pigs.
- Gordon allegedly impersonated McInerney to commit fraud and deceive friends about her whereabouts.
George Gordon, 65, is accused of murdering his friend Delia McInerney in April 2023 and keeping her dismembered body in a freezer for nearly three years.
The body was found in a chest freezer at Gordon's residence in Gerards Court on January 8, 2025, by police officers.
The court heard that Gordon also kept five dead guinea pigs in the freezer, which were allegedly intended to accompany McInerney to Portugal.
Gordon allegedly impersonated McInerney through messages and emails to her friends, claiming she was alive and had moved to Portugal.
The prosecution stated that Gordon used her identity to obtain credit cards and loans, and transferred over £2,000 from her bank accounts on April 12, 2023.
Gordon, who was absent from the dock, admitted to killing McInerney but claimed he struck her with a hammer to 'end her suffering' following an overdose incident.
