India batter Jemimah Rodrigues confirms full recovery ahead of South Africa tour.
The Brief
- Rodrigues declared fit after three months of rehabilitation.
- Her return benefits India's preparations for the South Africa tour.
- Injury forced her to miss several key international events.
India batter Jemimah Rodrigues confirmed her full recovery from a hamstring injury following a three-month rehabilitation period. The 26-year-old shared the update on social media on October 30.
Rodrigues' return coincides with India's preparations for a multi-format tour of South Africa, which includes a Test, three ODIs, and three T20Is. The tour is set to begin on December 9.
The injury occurred on August 3 during a match for Southern Brave in The Hundred in England. Scans at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru confirmed a high-grade tear in her right hamstring.
Rodrigues missed the Women's T20 Asia Cup in the UAE, the Asian Games in Japan, and India's recent ODI and T20I series against Zimbabwe. These absences limited her match practice during a critical period in the international calendar.
With her rehabilitation complete, Rodrigues may participate in the Senior Women's T20 Trophy in Mumbai before the final selection of India's squad for the South Africa tour.
Her availability will enhance India's batting options as they prepare for a challenging away series against the reigning ODI World Cup champions.
