IBF Orders Delgado and Biyarslanov to Resume Title Negotiations
The IBF has directed both fighters to restart talks for the vacant Jr. Welterweight title.
The Brief
- Delgado secured mandatory challenger status on November 15, 2025.
- Negotiations were set for October 31 in Riyadh but were halted due to Delgado's team decision.
- The IBF has set a new deadline for negotiations on November 23, 2026.
The International Boxing Federation (IBF) has ordered Lindolfo Delgado and Arthur Biyarslanov to resume negotiations for the vacant IBF Jr. Welterweight title.
Delgado, with a record of 24-0 and 16 knockouts, was scheduled to face Biyarslanov, who has a record of 21-0 and 17 knockouts, for the title.
Biyarslanov traveled to Riyadh without incident, but Delgado and his team deemed the security risk too high to proceed with the trip.
The IBF previously ordered the two fighters to negotiate for the title on May 27, 2026, and they had agreed to a bout set for October 31 in Riyadh.
However, on October 24, the IBF received notice that Delgado’s team had decided he would not travel to Saudi Arabia for the fight.
Following a review of the situation, the IBF has directed both fighters to restart negotiations with a new deadline of November 23, 2026.
