Don Macchiatos, a Cebu-based coffee chain, has introduced four new beverages inspired by Vietnam's coffee culture. The drinks are available at the chain’s flagship branch on P. del Rosario Street in Cebu City, beside Sto. Rosario Church.
The new lineup includes Salt Coffee, Coconut Coffee, Iced Milk Coffee, and Iced Black Coffee. These beverages are prepared using the traditional Vietnamese phin filter, which produces a rich, concentrated brew.
The drinks incorporate Trung Nguyen Robusta beans, known for their strong, dark-roasted and chocolatey profile, along with Vinamilk, a popular condensed milk brand in Vietnam.
Coconut Coffee draws inspiration from Southern Vietnam’s coconut harvests, combining coffee with a sweet, creamy coconut component and topped with desiccated coconut bits. Salt Coffee features a lightly salted creamy topping that complements the roasted coffee notes.
Iced Milk Coffee follows a classic Vietnamese preparation, blending strong brewed coffee with sweetened condensed milk. Iced Black Coffee offers a more straightforward preparation, with strong phin-brewed coffee poured over ice. Served black or with a touch of sugar, it features dark-roasted bitterness and subtle chocolate or caramel undertones.
The company has also renovated its flagship store on P. del Rosario Street, designed by Yaoto Architects + Partners, to reflect Vietnamese street-side coffee shop aesthetics. The four new flavors will be rolled out to other branches in the coming weeks. Customers can initially try the beverages at the flagship location in Cebu City.
