Seven has not confirmed a 2027 return for Dancing with the Stars Australia, ending months of speculation. The network’s Chief Content Officer, Brook Hall, shared an update with TV Tonight, stating the show could not be funded under the current economic conditions.
Hall explained that the decision was influenced by broader industry challenges, including cost pressures and a shifting media landscape. He noted that the show, while popular, was not viable under the current financial model.
Despite the show being put on ice in 2026 and paused again, Seven has secured another reality series for next year. I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia is set to air, replacing the previous format.
The new show will be hosted by Ricki-Lee Coulter and Jim Jeffer, marking a surprise pairing. An industry insider noted that their chemistry was apparently fantastic, despite initial expectations of an unlikely collaboration.
