The Brief

  • Croissante Santa Clara features pastries made with French ingredients.
  • The bakery is open daily with varying hours for weekdays and weekends.
  • A new location in Palo Alto is planned for the future.

Croissante Santa Clara, located on El Camino Real, is a bakery that offers a taste of France with its pastries and brunch items. Sean Kang, an ambitious young man with a passion for fine baked goods and chocolates, is the brainchild behind the establishment.

The bakery uses high-quality ingredients, including wooden barrel-churned Échiré butter from Western France and Label Rouge flour, designed for traditional French baguettes and artisan high-end bread making. These ingredients contribute to the bakery's reputation for producing pastries that closely resemble authentic French croissants.

The pastries exhibit a fine balance between crispy crunch and a flaky, melty interior. The menu also includes a variety of brunch options, such as omelettes, salads, and sandwiches, with standout items like the Eggwing and brie, prosciutto, and fig jam melt.

Croissante Santa Clara operates from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. A satellite location in Los Gatos is currently open, and a location in Palo Alto is forthcoming.

The bakery's menu also includes special seasonal desserts, such as pumpkin caramel Basque cheesecake. The establishment is often lively, with customers finding the place busy during peak hours.
