During a visit to the Bharat Bovine Breeding and Research Centre in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was greeted with chants of 'Modi nahi jayenge', which translates to 'Modi will not leave'.
In response, Congress leader Pawan Khera remarked, 'You wish!', adding that Modi would not even attend Parliament and would flee if given the chance.
The slogan was raised as Modi posed for a group photograph and interacted with attendees at the cattle farm. This exchange comes after Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge sparked controversy with a remark about Modi's potential departure.
The visit was part of a broader initiative in Gujarat, during which Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects totaling over Rs 14,000 crore. He also released the 24th instalment of PM-KISAN, amounting to Rs 19,000 crore.
Additional projects include the expansion of Ahmedabad’s metro network, the widening of the Ahmedabad-Mehsana Road, and the construction of two Bio-CNG plants in the dairy sector. Over 4,000 new Anganwadi centres are also planned for childcare infrastructure.
Modi also announced the dedication of 521 projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, costing around Rs 4,950 crore, including cold storage facilities, warehouses, and processing units.
