Union Minister Jitendra Singh has accused the satirical political group Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and its key enablers of receiving illegal funds from foreign non-profits and hostile external networks.
Singh stated that the authorities have evidence linking the CJP's founder, Abhijeet Dipke, and strategist, Ash, to overseas financiers, including US-based donors and Pakistani politicians.
BJP spokesperson Tuhin A Sinha claimed the CJP's recent protests were designed to create unrest in Delhi during the festive season and accused the group of targeting the judiciary at the same time as the Congress party.
The Delhi Police Crime Branch has summoned CJP spokespersons Saurav Das and Ranka for questioning, citing their failure to comply with official prohibitory orders, entering Jantar Mantar without permission and trespassing onto another party's property.
Dipke, the CJP founder, initially gained attention by launching the party's website and social media accounts while still in the US, which he described as a satirical project.
The Opposition has rejected the BJP-led Centre's claims, with Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge criticizing the government for making allegations without producing evidence.
