CCTV captures alleged plot to kill Ghaziabad man

CCTV footage from October 26 shows Priya leaving her house around 5.17am and driving away in her car. Three minutes later, Pratap Singh, a gym trainer, is seen entering the house.

Singh allegedly attacked Shashank Kanthariya, 35, while he was asleep beside his daughter. He exited the house at approximately 5.23am. A neighbor called out to Shashank around 5.25am.

A local resident who was out for a morning walk noticed Singh and, along with a security guard, began chasing him. Other residents joined the pursuit. Singh reportedly told the group nothing had happened.

Singh was eventually caught with the help of two men on motorcycles and a security guard. By 5.42am, several neighbors and local residents had gathered near his house.

Shashank, a senior accountant with the Delhi government, was rushed to a nearby hospital and remains in the ICU. His daughter, who woke during the attack and began crying, escaped without injuries.

Police said Singh began working at the gym Priya attended in Vasundhara in January this year. The two allegedly entered into a relationship the following month. Shashank learned about the alleged affair towards the end of September and confronted his wife, asking her to end the relationship and change gyms.

Investigators suspect tensions escalated after Shashank decided to move out and began looking for a house in Delhi. Priya allegedly informed Singh about her husband’s plans, leading to the alleged conspiracy to kill him.

Police said Priya routinely left home around 5am to go to the gym, leaving the front door unlocked. Investigators believe she followed the same routine on Monday, allowing Singh to enter the house. Two knives were recovered from Singh’s possession.
