Bordeaux-Malta Flights Begin April 1
New direct flights between Bordeaux and Malta start on April 1, offering twice-weekly service.
The Brief
- Flights operate Monday and Thursday in both directions starting April 1, 2027.
- Airbus A320neo aircraft will be used for the route.
- Travelers can avoid connecting through Amsterdam with the new direct service.
KM Malta Airlines will launch direct flights between Bordeaux and Malta starting April 1, 2027. The service will operate twice weekly, with flights departing Monday and Thursday in both directions.
From Bordeaux, Monday flights depart at 22:05 and arrive in Malta at 00:35 the following day. Thursday departures are at 10:15, arriving at 12:45. Flights from Malta to Bordeaux leave Monday at 18:35 and arrive at 21:15, with Thursday departures at 6:45 and arrivals at 9:25.
The Connexion noted the schedule is subject to change, advising travelers to confirm times on the airline website before booking. The new route provides a direct alternative to previous flights that connected via Amsterdam.
KM Malta Airlines executive chairman David Curmi stated the route marks progress in strengthening connections with France and offering more options for visitors to explore Malta. The Aviation Hub confirmed the use of Airbus A320neo aircraft for the route.
The direct service allows travelers from southwest France to reach Malta without a hub connection, saving time and reducing baggage and delay risks. This change is part of broader network adjustments for the summer of 2027.
Bordeaux has added several new air links in recent months, including winter easyJet routes and a Transavia link to Cairo starting in late October. The Malta route extends this growth into the summer season.
