Brazilian Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, who arrived in the United States after leaving Brazil, has claimed to be the rightful leader of Brazil, accusing the Supreme Court and President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva of orchestrating an electoral coup.
Bolsonaro stated he was welcomed by U.S. President Donald Trump and Argentine leader Javier Milei, whom he thanked for facilitating his departure from Brazil.
In an initial open letter posted on social media platform X, Bolsonaro declared himself 'the elected president.' He later deleted that message and posted an updated letter stating he was the 'rightful leader' of Brazil.
Bolsonaro left Brazil for Miami, where he and his family received U.S. visas. The country's Supreme Court had previously validated the election results, which Lula won by over 4 million votes.
