The Brief

  • Reese will step away from podcasts to focus on personal development.
  • She led the Dream to their first Finals appearance since 2013.
  • Reese will not participate in Unrivaled this year.

Angel Reese, a key player for the Atlanta Dream, has announced she will take a break from her podcasts during the upcoming offseason. The decision comes after the Dream's WNBA season ended with a Finals loss to the Golden State Valkyries.

Reese, who averaged 16.4 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game, was named Defensive Player of the Year and earned All-WNBA Second Team and All-Defensive First Team honors. Her performance helped the Dream finish the regular season with a 30-14 record.

Despite the team's strong regular season, the Dream fell to the Valkyries in seven games during the Finals. Reese expressed her gratitude for her teammates, calling them a 'great group' that 'changed my life.' She emphasized her commitment to the team, stating she would 'do it again, all over again.'

Reese's offseason plans include personal focus, which she described as 'dedicating this offseason to myself.' This break means she will not be participating in Unrivaled, a competition she has joined in the past two seasons. She was not listed among the 48 players announced for this year's event.

The Dream, who acquired Reese last offseason, will look to return to the Finals in the next season. Reese remains motivated to help her team achieve that goal, despite her personal focus during the break.
