Afghanistan completes 3-0 T20I series sweep over Zimbabwe

Afghanistan completed a 3-0 sweep of Zimbabwe in the three-match T20I series with a seven-wicket victory in the final match in Sharjah on Sunday.

Spinner Noor Ahmad was the key performer, dismantling Zimbabwe's middle and lower order as the hosts were bowled out for 79 in under 15 overs.

Afghanistan began strongly by dismissing Zimbabwe's openers, Innocent Kaia and Brian Bennett, in the first two overs, with Fazalhaq Farooqi and Azmatullah Omarzai taking early wickets.

Abdullah Tarakhail then removed Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza, leaving the visitors at 13/3 in the fourth over.

Ryan Burl scored 30 runs before being dismissed by Abdollah Ahmadzai, allowing Noor Ahmad to dominate the middle and lower order and trigger a collapse.

In response, Afghanistan chased aggressively, with Mohammad Akram scoring 14 off five deliveries before falling to Blessing Muzarabani.

Sediqullah Atal continued the attack, scoring 20 off 14 balls, but was dismissed by Ernest Masuku, who also removed Noor ul Rahman.

Ibrahim Zadran and Azmatullah Omarzai guided Afghanistan to victory, sealing the win with seven wickets to spare.

Afghanistan had already taken a 2-0 series lead after winning the first two matches, with Omarzai scoring 116 in the second T20I and Rashid Khan delivering a strong all-round performance in the opener.
